Meet Simone Biles’ new, and first, boyfriend, Stacey Ervin!

Biles, 20, was accompanied by her beau to the USA Gynastics Hall of Fame event on Sunday, and Ervin made sure everyone knew that he was her lucky date with a sweet Instagram post.

“Words cannot express how incredibly proud I am of you, all you’ve accomplished & how well you carry yourself,” he wrote along with a photo of the two of them at the event. “You make me feel like I am the luckiest man alive. Congratulation on your induction to the USA Gymnastics Hall of Fame! I can’t wait to see what the future has in store. ”

Ervin was the first to make the relationship Instagram official, but Biles followed suit shortly after. On Monday, the gold medalist Instagrammed a shot of her looking up longingly at Ervin, captioning it simply with: “Always smiling with you.”

Training so hard for so long, Biles didn’t really have time for relationships in the past. This is a first for her and it’s clearly making her happy and cheerful.

“I have never had a boyfriend in my life,” the female gymnast told Entertainment Tonight earlier this year. “At 20 years old I feel like you should have gone through those things and gone on dates. I have been on like, maybe one proper date.”

Now that’s changed and Biles will have the opportunity to go on date after date with her boyfriend. Sunday’s event was only the beginning and we can only hope that the couple decides to continue to share sweet photos on social media as their relationship blossoms.

The world’s already well acquainted with Biles, but now that the two have put themselves out there as a twosome, it’s time to get to know Ervin a little bit better. Here are five things to know about Biles’ new beau.

1. Ervin and his girlfriend have a lot in common.

He, too, is a gymnast. He began gymnastics in 2001 at his mother’s suggestion and has competed at both the collegiate and professional levels.

2. He is a few years older than Biles.

He’s 23 and will celebrate his next birthday in October.

3. He’s a graduate of University of Michigan.

He majored in Psychology. Now he’s using what he’s learned from both school and gymnastics to help coach people to reach their personal goals, whatever they might be. Ervin often posts motivational videos on his Facebook page. He’s also partnered with the supplement company, 1st Phorm.

4. Ervin has three siblings – a brother and two sisters.

Family is very important to him and he enjoys spending time with them. Yes, even his little sister.

5. He’s active on Instagram.

While Facebook is for his motivational speech videos, he uses Instagram to post photos from his personal life, as well as videos of specific gymnastics moves that are not for the faint of heart, or for beginners. He’s also quite the daredevil, performing backflips without mats and with rocks and water at his sides.
