It feels like “Will & Grace” just returned, but the show is already on hiatus. The NBC comedy isn’t on this week, and it won’t return until the new year.

The Nov. 2 episode of the series was actually the midseason finale. “Will & Grace” is on hiatus until January 2018. Luckily, NBC already revealed when the revived series will return.

The midseason premiere of “Will & Grace” Season 9 airs Thursday, Jan. 4. It will return to its usual timeslot at 9 p.m. EST on NBC.

Anyone looking for the show on Thursdays in November will only find sports. Thursday Night Football is replacing the NBC comedy lineup while the shows are on hiatus.

Why isn't “Will & Grace” on tonight?

In the midseason finale of “Will & Grace,” our favorite foursome had to attend a funeral. Karen’s (Megan Mullally) maid Rosario (Shelley Morrison) died, and Karen had to deal with losing the person who has taken care of her for years. She had a beautiful final moment with Rosario at her funeral, but not before a few strong drinks.

Meanwhile, Grace (Debra Messing) is finding her workspace much more crowded. Karen remains her employee, but now Jack (Sean Hayes) is there too. Then, Will (Eric McCormack) decided to sign a lease on the space next to the office so they could expand and feel less crowded, but Grace still isn’t happy.

As business partners, Will admits that he was wrong, and they should discuss all decisions. Grace believes Will works for her and should run everything by her, but she does not think she has to run everything by him. Will is worried he made the wrong choice giving up his career to work with Grace if he isn’t truly in charge of anything.

Did Will make the wrong choice? Viewers will find out in January. The series will return for another 10 episodes in 2018. Of course, the revival is already quite successful, so don’t worry about saying goodbye to the fab four for long. A second season of the revival has already been ordered by NBC.
