Wi-LAN has reached settlements with six companies in a wireless patent dispute and expects to reach deals with six others involved in the case before the February 2 trial date, the patent-licensing company said on Monday.

Wi-LAN, which has settled with a slew of high tech companies in recent weeks, said it had agreed terms with Marvell, Lenovo, Netgear Inc, 2Wire, Belkin International and Westell Technologies.

It did not disclose the amounts the defendants agreed to pay or other terms of the deals.

Wi-LAN said it expects to reach agreements for Wi-Fi patents only with Apple, Dell, Sony, Hewlett-Packard, Toshiba and D-Link Systems, and does not expect a trial due to start on February 2 to proceed.
