One person was killed and another was injured in a shooting incident on the campus of Winston-Salem State University in North Carolina early Sunday. In a statement issued following the incident, the university said that both victims are believed to be students.

“At approximately 1:20 a.m., a shooting was reported at Winston-Salem State University. … The campus was placed on lockdown at approximately 1:30 a.m. The lockdown was lifted at approximately 4:50 a.m.,” the university said, in a statement posted on its Facebook page.

The suspected gunman, identified as Jarrett Jerome Moore, is still at large. The identities of the victims have not been revealed.

“The suspected gunman is not believed to be a current student,” Aaron Singleton, a spokesman for the university, reportedly said. “Anyone with information on the suspect, Jarrett Jerome Moore, including his location is advised to contact Campus Police.”

The incident comes just a week after a 19-year-old was shot and injured at the North Carolina Central University campus in Durham. The suspect from the shooting is still believed to be at large.
