Take on seat on the couch because Tuesday night is jam-packed with can’t miss premieres. Whether it be your favorite series returning from holiday hiatus, or a brand new TV show premiering, there is something for everybody on Jan. 5.

Highlights for the night include Fox’s new Tuesday comedy lineup, which starts at 8 p.m. “New Girl” has been off the air since May, but Jess (Zooey Deschanel) and Schmidt (Max Greenfield) are finally returning with more laughs. Meanwhile, “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” is making the big move from Sunday to join fellow comedies “Grandfathered” and “The Grinder.”

For those looking to get sucked into reality TV drama, “Dance Moms” is back on Lifetime at 8 p.m. for its sixth season. Expect lots of OMG moments with Abby Lee Miller causing problems.

But probably the biggest premiere of the evening is MTV’s new series, “The Shannara Chronicles.” Based on the science fiction novels by Terry Brooks, the network is going all out with a special two-hour premiere starting at 10 p.m.
