Fox has released the synopsis for the much-anticipated Season 11 premiere of “The X-Files.”

According to synopsis for Season 11, episode 1 of the sci-fi series, Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) and Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson) find out that they aren’t the only ones who are desperately searching for their long-lost son, William.

The other party interested in finding William remains unclear, but in the official Season 11 trailer released during the show’s panel at New York Comic Con (NYCC) last October, Mulder is seen talking to a man who is keen on locating William.

“He needs the boy Mr. Mulder,” the man tells Duchovny’s character, before calling William “a very special child.”

While it’s uncertain why the other party is also looking for William, Mulder is clearly upset about them trying to locate his son. “My son is none of your business,” Mulder angrily tells the man.

Although the series took a long time before putting the limelight back to William, series creator Chris Carter told Deadline that the character has always been part of the show. “He’s been the absent center but I have to say that that storyline is explored further,” Carter said.

In fact, Carter said during the show’s NYCC panel that Season 11 will explore the relationship between father, mother, and son. “You’ll see more of William than you’ve seen in a long time,” Carter said (via Entertainment Weekly).

While the actor who will play William in the new season has yet to be announced, Anderson told TVLine that the thespian who was cast in the role “looks like a normal kid.” But intriguingly, Duchovny revealed that William doesn’t look like any of his parents. “He resembles two people that aren’t Mulder and Scully. And when you read this back [after watching the episodes] you’ll figure this out,” the actor said.

Meanwhile, Carter recently admitted that reviving “The X-Files” was a challenge. “We [relaunched] from a standing start after not having been on the air for 12 years — so there was some reacquainting that had to be achieved,” Carter told TVLine of bringing the beloved series back for a six-episode Season 10 last year. “It was like old friends getting back together. We had to shake some of the stiffness out.”

But now that all the groundwork is laid, Carter is confident that the upcoming Season 11 will run more smoothly than the previous season. “I think that we’re all in fighting shape now,” he said.

“The X-Files” Season 11 premieres on Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2018 at 8 p.m. EST on Fox.
