After Yahoo Inc. announced Carol Bratz as its new Chief Executive Officer Tuesday, speculation emerged that a partnership between Microsoft and Yahoo could take place this time.

But Carol Bartz dismissed all the speculations after, been in a meeting with the company that her gut was not to sell Yahoo's search business, people familiar with the meeting said, according to the Wall Street Journal.

According to the anonymous sources, in the meeting Wednesday, Bartz said she plans to spend a lot of time investigating whether to sell Yahoo's search business which former CEO Jerry Yang and President Susan Decker opposed.

Microsoft offer to buy Yahoo but talks ended in June. In July, Microsoft made anther offer which Yang rejected. Microsoft's CEO Steve Ballmer said recently the company still wants to do a search deal with Yahoo
