Young and the Restless
The Abbotts share an unforgettable Christmas on the Dec. 22, 2017 episode of "The Young and the Restless." CBS

There's been a lot of tension in the Abbott family lately over Jack and Ashley's feud about who will be the CEO of Jabot. Unfortunately for their loved ones, the tensions aren't about to die down anytime soon on "The Young and the Restless," with Jack dropping a massive bombshell on his sister after their family get together is ruined by their feud on the Friday, Dec. 22 episode.

Things have been tense among the Abbotts recently after Ashley (Eileen Davidson) moved to have Jack (Peter Bergman) removed as CEO of the family company in the CBS soap. She made the move in an attempt to reign him in because he was making bad decisions while trying to run the company and take care of their Alzheimer's afflicted mother, Dina (Marla Adams) at the same time. Her vote was successful, and things did not go well when Jack realized what had happened. Things only got more heated between the siblings when Jack insisted she recommend he be reinstated, and she informed him she was planning to become a permanent CEO.

Now, as their loved ones and special guests all gather for Christmas dinner, their feud will dampen the festivities, as their fighting leads to more issues—and eventually, the dinner will end abruptly because of their fight.

However, the true moment that will destroy their Christmas will come later in the evening, after the two siblings come face to face once again. While Ashley will try to apologize and convince her brother that they should put their squabble aside for the holidays, Jack will surprise her with an assertion that they can't, because he's about to ruin her plans.

Everyone learned recently that despite being raised as John Abbott's daughter, biologically, Ashley was really Dina's daughter with Brent Davis, and therefore, was not a true Abbott by blood. Knowing it's a sore spot for her, Jack will inform Ashley that he had snuck in a provision into the Jabot bylaws some time ago—one that indicates only blood relatives of John could serve as the company CEO. Realizing that it makes her pitch illegitimate, Ashley will be furious—and the feud between the two will become stronger than ever before.

"The Young and the Restless" airs weekdays at 12:30 p.m. EST on CBS.
