Young and the Restless
Jack (Peter Bergman) and Ashley's (Eileen Davidson) battle over Jabot continues to heat up on the Dec. 20, 2017 episode of "The Young and the Restless." CBS

He was stunned when the Jabot board voted against him, effectively knocking him out of the CEO position at the company. However, Jack will refuse to go down without a fight, and will make sure Ashley knows she hasn't won yet on the Wednesday, Dec. 20 episode of "The Young and the Restless.'

After learning her brother was making plans to buy Chancellor on the CBS soap, and had done so without consulting her, Ashley (Eileen Davidson) moved to have Jack (Peter Bergman) removed as the CEO of Jabot for the time being, because she felt he was stretching himself too thin between controlling the company and taking care of their Alzheimer's-afflicted mother Dina (Marla Adams). Both campaigned to be the new head of the company, but in the end, Ashley came out on top following a tie-breaker vote from Jack's son, Kyle.

Now, Jack is refusing to accept the results of the vote, but is also having trouble getting in touch with his son, who he wants an answer from. As Ashley tries to get him to move past it and accept things, he will continue to deny that the vote even happened, and will walk off without listening to what she has to say. Ashley will begin to question if she did the right thing because she didn't want to cause more strife in their family, but will also reassure herself when she decides that it was the right move, because Jack's decisions while he's stressed could hurt the company as a whole.

Jack will also wonder if Ashley did the right thing because he knows he's been stretched thin lately. However, he will also again decide that he's in the right, and because he and Ashley both still believe in themselves, it will only cause their battle to heat up further—especially when Ashley indicates that she not only won't ask the board to reinstate Jack, but that she will move to become the permanent CEO of the company instead.

In addition to their battle potentially ripping their family apart just as the holidays approach Genoa City, their fight could also rip apart Billy (Jason Thompson) and Phyllis (Gina Tognoni)--who are each picking sides that oppose one another. That could cause irreparable future harm on their rekindled romance as well.

"The Young and the Restless" airs weekdays at 12:30 p.m. EST on CBS.
