Young and the restless
Reed (Tristan Lake Leabu) gets some tough love on the Jan. 11, 2018 episode of "The Young and the Restless." CBS

He was arrested after his girlfriend called the cops and reported him for driving drunk, and now, Reed will suffer the legal consequences of his actions on the Thursday, Jan. 11 episode of "The Young and the Restless."

Reed (Tristan Lake Leabu) drank heavily on the CBS soap after learning that TJ (Thad Luckinbill) had been separated from Mac, but his girlfriend, Mattie (Lexie Stevenson) was not letting him off the hook when he decided to leave a party they were at while he was drunk. She had warned him she would call the police, and followed through on her promise. Now, he's headed to court, and he, JT and Victoria (Amelia Heinle) are just hopeful that the judge will give him the still harsh, but minimum sentence of a small amount of community service and a license that is suspended for six months.

However, Reed will instead find himself receiving an even stiffer sentence, and once again, Mattie will have something to do with it.

When she realizes his sentencing is today, Mattie will quickly decide to also head to court. Since the arrest, she and Reed have not been on good terms, as Reed has blamed his girlfriend for his misfortune. Showing up may be the way that she can attempt to fix things with him, though in reality, she may just want to see if there's any way she can contribute to sentencing, with the hope of influencing the judge to be less stern on Reed.

However, when she initially arrives, her appearance will annoy not only Reed, but the judge as well. She will be allowed to continue with her plans to say something, where she will tell the judge that Reed was just blowing off steam that night after receiving a major upset. However, though that will be taken into consideration, Reed's clearly not wanting her there is something the judge will notice—and instead of Mattie's testimony helping Reed, it will hurt him. He will receive a double sentence, with a longer license suspension, heavier fine and even more community service as a result.

However, Reed will still be grateful to Mattie for trying to help—but no matter what, it may be too late for the two teens to fix their broken relationship.

"The Young and the Restless" airs weekdays at 12:30 p.m. EDT on CBS.
