Throughout the first 10 episodes of “The 100” Season 5, fans have been hearing little tidbits about the elusive “dark year” that Wonkru went through in the bunker, but Tuesday’s new episode on The CW will finally reveal the truth about what happened.

In episode 11, rightfully titled “The Dark Year,” Clarke’s (Eliza Taylor) fighting to save her mom, Abby (Paige Turco), who she and Madi (Lola Flanery) found overdosed on the pills that she’s addicted to at the end of the last episode. Abby had started taking the drugs towards the end of Season 4 for her headaches, but over the last six years, she’s become addicted to them. Partially, she’s hinted, because of what happened during the “dark year.”

Clarke will learn “more about the trials and tribulations Wonkru faced in the bunker, and the impossible decisions they were forced to make in the dark year” in this episode, according to the official synopsis.

“We did things no human being should ever have to do,” a recovering Abby tells Clarke in the episode promo.

Whatever went down during that intense time was also enough to turn Octavia (Marie Avgeropoulos) into the Bloodreina dictator that she is now and make Indra (Adina Porter) ashamed for letting Octavia become that way.

There are many full spoilers about this week’s “The 100” episode out there on social media because it screened at San Diego Comic-Con last week, but let this one be just a sweet, little tease of what’s to come on Tuesday.

“I’m still processing the screening of #TheDarkYear because I’m pretty sure it broke my brain but [Turco] and [Avgeropoulos] are absolute powerhouses and both ladies deliver unparalleled work in this episode,” tweeted user @samcaseyc.

Season 5 is almost over, with parts one and two of the finale airing on July 31 and Aug. 7, respectively, but Taylor shared that there’s still so much to come. “I think people are going to be really, really happy, sad, shocked…It’s a lot, but it’s very well done and I think people are going to lose their minds a little bit,” she told E! News.

“The 100” airs on Tuesdays on The CW at 8 p.m. EDT.
