An 87-year-old woman was sexually assaulted by a 14-year-old boy who carjacked her at knifepoint, police said Wednesday. The incident took place at a book drop in the Waukesha Public Library in Wisconsin.

Officers said the teenger carried out the assault on Nov. 30 and then stole the woman's car. Waukesha Mayor's Office dubbed the incident shocking.

The victim was able to give a description of the teen to the investigators.

He was found "a short time later and in the vicinity of the stolen vehicle," police said in a statement to ABC-affiliated station WISN 12. The suspect tried to escape when he saw the officers but he was arrested.

"This incident is sad and incomprehensible," police said. The identities of the victim and the suspect were not revealed.

Waukesha Schools Deputy Superintendent Joe Koch said the suspect was a high school student.

"The allegations are horrific, the assault on an 87-year-old community member you just can't fathom," Koch said, adding that the student has since withdrawn from the district.

The suspect is an extended family member of Milwaukee Common Council president and mayoral candidate Cavalier Johnson, WISN 12 reported.

"I am saddened and troubled by this news," Johnson said in a statement to the TV station. "First and foremost, my heartfelt prayers go out to the victim and her family. No one should ever have to deal with what she is going through. I hope and pray for her full healing and recovery. If what is alleged is found to be true, the accused should absolutely be held accountable for these actions. No family deserves to endure what this family and this victim are going through, and I am praying for healing and recovery for all concerned."

The charges filed against the suspect have not been made public. The case is expected to be heard in an adult court, New York Post reported.

Last week, a convicted sex offender from Washington state was charged with first-degree rape and first-degree kidnapping for sexually assaulting a woman. The accused, identified as Henry William Hauser Jr, had kept the woman in his garage for two weeks
