Joe Walsh, the former Illinois congressman and current 2020 Republican presidential candidate running against Donald Trump, has recently had some harsh words for conservative media.

Speaking with Brian Stelter on CNN’s "Reliable Sources," Walsh called out the likes of Fox News and conservative talk radio hosts for what he described as dishonest coverage of the impeachment proceedings.

“This is an absolute shame and I think you've got to call it out for what it is,” Walsh said. “The Americans who listen to Fox News and conservative talk radio are being lied to and manipulated every day when it comes to impeachment.”

As a candidate for the Republican presidential nomination, Walsh has frequently been critical of Trump and his administration, while urging fellow GOP members to do the same. In recent weeks, he has also spoken out in favor of impeachment.

Walsh has claimed to have been pressured to praise Trump during his time as a conservative radio host. He also claimed to have lost invitations to appear on Fox News since he began publicly criticizing Trump.

“The vast majority of the American people understand that when it comes to Ukraine, he did something wrong,” Walsh said. “But those people who listen to the opinion shows on Fox and those people who listen to my former world, conservative talk radio, have no clue because they're being told every day: “He’s done nothing wrong” ... It's dangerous.”
