2021 MTV EMA: Justin Bieber, BTS Lead Nominations

Justin Bieber and BTS have done it again. The Prince of Pop is currently a frontrunner at 2021 MTV European Music Awards (EMA) with a total of eight nominations, including Best Artist, Best Pop, Best Song, Best Collaboration, Best Video and Biggest Fans. Meanwhile, the K-pop sensation has been nominated for Best Pop, Best K-pop and Biggest Fans.

Bieber is closely followed by Doja Cat and Lil Nas X who have six nods each as well as Ed Sheeran, Olivia Rodrigo and The Kid LAROI who have been nominated five times each.

This year's MTV EMA will be held on Nov. 14 at the Papp László Budapest Sportaréna in Hungary and will be broadcast live on MTV channels across 180 countries on Nov. 14.

According to a report from ABC News, deciding to hold the awards show in Hungary is an act of "reaffirming and defending the location" amid the country's recent passage of laws that are deemed anti-LGBTQ.
