Samsung’s 8.0-inch Galaxy Tab S2 slate is now available at a significantly discounted price on Amazon with free shipping service in tow. The discount also indicates the imminent arrival of the next-generation Galaxy Tab S3, rumored to come with identical exterior design.

Amazon is now selling the 32GB variant of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 for just $299, while the original price used to be $399. The discounted unit is a Gold variant, although Black and White models are also available for purchase with limited discounts.

Launched in July and released in September 2015, the Galaxy Tab S2’s 8.0-inch Super AMOLED display comes bundled with 1,536 x 2,048 pixels screen resolution. The display combination translates to a pixel density of 320ppi.

Under the hood, this tablet comes powered by an octa-core Exynos 5433 processor and backed by a generous 3GB of RAM. On the software front, it runs Android 5.0.2 Lollipop out of the box. However, it is upgradable to Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.

Size-wise, the slate weighs 265g and it is 0.22-inch thick. It sports an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera unit with autofocus and a 2.1-megapixel front-facing shooter for selfies. Samsung has housed a non-removable Li-Ion 4,000 mAh battery unit in the Tab S2 to keep the lights on.

Apart from the 32GB built-in storage space, the slate comes equipped with a microSD card slot to facilitate expansion of up to 256GB. The Tab S2 comes with a fingerprint scanner embedded in the home button to authenticate users.

The device bundled consists of Galaxy Tab S2, travel adapter, microUSB cable and a quick start guide. Even though Amazon hasn’t indicated any limitations, there is a good chance that only limited quantities of the discounted units are available for purchase.
