Those interested in buying a new car in 2023 could find themselves intrigued by the changing market and the number of possible models to choose from.

Car manufacturers worldwide have been pledging to drastically reduce or even stop producing combustion engines in recent years, and as such, more than 40 new EV models are set to debut or launch for customers in 2023. Several models are designed to run solely on electric power, while a few combustion engines are still being made.

Regardless of engine, here are five cars to look forward to the most.

Volkswagen ID.4 Pro

The VW ID.4 is one of the least expensive EV launches in 2023, with a starting price of $37,495. Plus, it is manufactured at Volkswagen's Tennessee factory, which means American buyers can qualify for a revised EV tax credit of up to $7,500. A full battery charge has an expected 208-mile range, and up to 190 miles can be charged back up within 28 minutes.

Alfa Romeo Tonale

Starting at $49,900, this is the first Alfa Romeo to have a plug-in hybrid powertrain. The SUV offers a 1.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine and a rear-mounted electric motor for a combined total of 272 horsepower. The 15.5 kWh lithium-ion battery pack can hold a charge for 30 miles of electric driving.

Ferrari Purosangue SUV

The first SUV from Ferrari's model line, this vehicle combines a 6.5-liter engine capable of producing up to 715 horsepower. It also comes with the high-end features that Ferrari features in its other designs. However, the design will set those willing to purchase back, as it starts at $370,000.

Audi A6 E-Tron

The sedan, with an expected base price tag of $75,000, is set to feature a maximum distance of 435 miles per charge and can charge up to 186 miles within 10 minutes. With 462 horsepower and 590 lbs. of torque, the E-Tron features a dual-motor all-wheel drive system.

Jeep Wrangler EV (Magneto)

There has been no mention of how much capacity the four-battery pack will hold, though the Magneto will most likely feature a 285-horsepower electric motor with a 6-speed manual transmission. The estimated starting price for the standard model is $50,000.
