Costco (COST) is expanding and adding several new stores in the U.S. in the coming months as part of a planned expansion it announced at the end of 2021.

During the company’s Q1 2022 earnings call, chief financial officer Richard Galanti said Costco planned to open 27 new locations during the fiscal year, with six relocations also planned, according to a transcript of the call from Seeking Alpha.

At the end of last year, Costco opened a store in Melbourne, Florida, as well as international locations in Suzhou, China, and Bilbao, Spain.

One of the first new locations to open in 2022 is in Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada, according to the company’s website.

But, according to local media reports, plenty of new Costco warehouse stores are slated for the U.S. in the coming months.

Three new locations could be coming to California as stores are in the works in San Jose, Brentwood, and Redding, local reports indicated.

The Redding site is currently under construction, while the San Jose and Brentwood stores are in the proposal stages with their respective cities. If approved, the Brentwood store could open in 2023, while the Redding store is scheduled to open this fall when construction completes, the reports indicated.

Costco is also planning on opening a store in Salem, Oregon, in March 2022, according to the Statesman Journal, as reported by Eat This, Not That.

Longmont, Colorado, will also soon have its own Costco store, according to the Longmont Times-Call. The city approved the 150,000-square-foot warehouse in December 2020. However, there is no word on when it will open.

Two more Costco stores are expected to come to Texas after being approved in 2019 and 2021. The locations are expected in Georgetown, where construction will begin on a 160,000-square-foot warehouse, and in Kyle, where construction will also start sometime in 2022, according to the Austin Business Journal, Eat This, Not That reported.

The only states in the U.S. without a Costco store are Rhode Island, Wyoming and West Virginia.

As of Thursday premarket hours, shares of Costco were trading at $515.59, down $6.43, or 1.23%.
