The Bachelor - JoJo and Ben
JoJo Fletcher may not have found love with Ben Higgins, but she'll get a second chance at her fairytale ending on "The Bachelorette." ABC

“Bachelor” fans rejoice! JoJo Fletcher might not have ended up with Ben Higgins, but she got a decent “second place” prize. On Monday night it was announced that the

24-year-old real estate developer from Dallas, Texas, is going to be the next star of “The Bachelorette”!

Fans fell in love with JoJo right from the start of the season. The contestant was laid back, didn’t pick fights with the other women, and took the time to make sure Ben was doing OK throughout the process. Although there weren’t immediate sparks between JoJo and Ben, over time the two developed a beautiful friendship and relationship based on trust and passion.

Of course there were some rough patches. During her hometown date, JoJo had to deal with an ex-boyfriend who reached out to rekindle things with her. And Ben’s date to meet her parents didn’t exactly goes as planned. Things got so awkward when JoJo’s brothers accused him of brainwashing girls that JoJo’s mom actually took a swig of champagne straight from the bottle.

But, despite these little hiccups, JoJo made it all the way to the end of the competition where she confessed to Ben that she was in love with him. Ben felt the same way and told her, but he also had strong feelings for Lauren Bushnell. In an emotional conclusion to the season, Ben ultimately realized that he couldn’t live without Lauren, and broke things off with JoJo during the final rose ceremony. JoJo was blindsided by Ben’s decision, but wished him happiness with Lauren before she left.

“It’s crazy,” JoJo said during the “After the Final Rose” special when it was announced that she would be the next “Bachelorette” star. “I’m so excited.”

Ben told “Bachelor” host Chris Harrison that JoJo is a “great choice” for “Bachelorette,” and we agree! Check out 9 reasons why JoJo Fletcher will be an awesome lead:
