Christmas may still be just under two months away, but the newest film in Lifetime’s roster, “Always and Forever Christmas,” which debuts Sunday, might help inspire a permanent Christmas spirit year-round.

Part of the excitement from the new film likely comes from the main cast, which features some newbies to Lifetime’s Christmas lineup. Lexi Lawson and Mark Ghanimé, the two stars, are each making their debut on the channel with this film, though the leading man did also have a role in the 2018 Netflix movie “Christmas With a View.” He is likely better recognized as well from roles on “The Bold Type,” “Reign” and “Helix.” His leading lady has also had small roles on shows like “Power” and “The Mentalist.”

While they are newer to the Lifetime world however, they do have a veteran in their midst as well. Beth Broderick (a.k.a. Aunt Zelda from “Sabrina the Teenage Witch”), also stars, and previously held roles in the network’s 2014 film “A Perfect Christmas List” and 2017’s “A Very Merry Toy Store,” which saw her reunite with former “Sabrina” co-star Melissa Joan Hart.

So what might Broderick and the two newest entrants to the Lifetime family bring to the screen? A story about Christmas spirit of course, as well as finding romance when it’s least expected.

“When marketing exec Lucy (Lawson) learns that she’s inherited her grandfather’s year-round Christmas store, ‘Forever Christmas,’ she makes a trip back home to support the store during its final Christmas season before she sells it to a hip athleisurewear company,” a synopsis for the film states.

However, despite plans to put the store behind her after the holidays and go back to the life she’s built elsewhere, she may quickly find herself realizing she’s right where she belongs as she meets and gets to know not only a handsome local but also someone who may help her spread a little Christmas magic.

“But once she is back in Vermont, she begins to understand why her grandfather’s shop is so special with the help of local diner owner, Scott (Ghanimé) and the magic of a Christmas stranger from the North (Broderick,” the synopsis states.

Still, at the end of the holiday season, will Lexi find herself torn by a decision to keep things alive a little longer, or will she be pulled back to her former plans?

“Always and Forever Christmas” airs Sunday at 8 p.m. on Lifetime.
