The video reveals Capitol police officers approaching a black sedan with guns drawn before the vehicle speeds away from the scene and down a street, leaving the cops behind. It appears that the suspect -- reported by the New York Daily News to be a 34-year-old woman from Stamford, Conn. -- attempted to run over a Secret Service agent after ramming a security gate near the White House in her Lexus.

The suspect then led police officers on a high-speed chase to the Capitol Hill area, where shots were fired "in at least two location," a police spokeswoman said during a Thursday evening press conference.

The suspect was reportedly shot dead by police following the car chase, and a one-year-old child that was in her car was safely removed by police officers. One Capitol Police officer and one Secret Service agent were injured in the course of the investigation, the police spokeswoman said.

"Our information is that both agencies had officers who fired," she said later during the presser.
