Amazon Prime will be available for $67 per year (down from $99) for one day only on Friday. The special offer celebrates the 67th Primetime Emmy Awards, where the Amazon Original series "Transplant" won five Emmy awards. The offer will be available on September 25 from 12am ET, and then end at 11.59pm PT.

“This has been an incredibly exciting year—with the Golden Globes wins in January and now twelve nominations and five Primetime Emmy wins. We are thrilled to celebrate Transparent with our customers by offering a Prime discount,” said Michael Paull, vice president of Digital Video for Amazon.

"Transparent" is a comedy-drama about a Los Angeles father transitioning to life as a woman. The show stars Jeffrey Tambor, Gaby Hoffman, Amy Landecker, and was created by Jill Soloway. Since the show's debut, it has been the number one ranked original show on the service. Critics have also given the show a near-perfect 98 percent score on RottenTomatoes.

The show's success marks out Amazon Prime Video as a serious competitor to Netflix when it comes to original on-demand programming. Amazon has also upped the ante in its competition with Netflix by offering offline support on mobile devices, something Netflix does not yet support.
