• AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT graphics card is aimed at 1440p PC gaming
  • The new AMD graphics card is positioned to cater to the mid-range market
  • It only costs $479, which undercuts GeForce RTX 3070's $499 price tag

AMD officially unveiled the Radeon RX 6700 XT, a new graphics card in the RX 6000 series earlier today. For many industry watchers, the new product is the company's response to the popular Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070.

The recently launched AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT graphics card is aimed at 1440p PC gaming and sports 12 GB of GDDR6 video memory. The new product promises to deliver twice the performance of previous-generation graphics cards from Nvidia and AMD. The Radeon RX 6700 XT costs $479, which undercuts GeForce RTX 3070's $499 price tag.

AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT Specs

The new graphics card shares the same RDNA 2 GPU architecture that its powerful siblings Radeon RX 6900, RX 6800 XT and RX 6800 graphics cards house. However, it is positioned to cater to the mid-range market. For its performance, AMD shared benchmarks showing that the Radeon RX 6700 XT can deliver over 60 fps at 1440p in video games like "Assassin's Creed: Valhalla," "Borderlands 3," "Dirt 5" and "Cyberpunk 2077."

As per Wccftech, AMD will most likely use 16 Gbps dies, resulting in a net total bandwidth of 384 GB/s for the cards. The newly launched graphics card also packs 96 MB of Infinity Cache to boost graphics bandwidth. Moreover, this GPU is fully Gen 4.0 compliant and features ray tracing support, Radeon Anti-Lag tech, and Smart Access Memory.

Its design features a dual-slot card with the same design features as the triple-slot offering of the company. It also sports a dual axial-tech fan design with a large R logo in the center as well on the fans, representing the Radeon brand. Additionally, it has a LED-lit Radeon logo on the sides and a big cut-out to release the heat from the aluminum heatsink.

AMD Radeon RX 6700 Vs GeForce RTX 2080 Super

AMD claims that the latest graphics card beats the GeForce RTX 2080 Super. AMD compares the Radeon RX 6700 XT graphics card with Nvidia's older generation. However, the still powerful graphics card is somehow the company's subtle way of introducing the RX 6700 XT as a replacement for the GeForce RTX fans. Currently, fans are having a hard time getting their hands on the latest Nvidia graphics cards because of stock shortages.

The AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT is scheduled to arrive on March 18.
