Get ready to pump some iron with Michael Chiklis. The “American Horror Story” newcomer’s “Freak Show” role has been revealed … and he’ll be playing a strong man!

“The Shield” star Michael Chiklis was added to the Season 4 cast of “American Horror Story” in late March, however his character was kept under wraps – until now. TV Line is reporting that the actor will not only be portraying a strong man in the Freak Show run by Jessica Lange’s character, but he’ll also be married to Angela Bassett’s character.

“He has scenes with Angela and Jessica Lange and [onscreen ex] Kathy Bates,” executive producer Ryan Murphy revealed to the site. “I love the part because it’s really written to be quite vulnerable, which is something I think Michael does well – the strong man who’s vulnerable. I’m very excited to see [him] tussle with all those great ladies. And he’s really up for it, really excited about it.”

While it has been revealed that Lange will be playing a German ex-pat running one of the last freak shows, “American Horror Story” fans are still waiting to hear the roles that Bassett and Bates will be tackling.

It has been previously reported that “AHS” alum Evan Peters would be playing a performer in the freak show and the son of Kathy Bates’ character. Fans have been speculating that Peters’ character would also be the son of Chiklis, although Murphy did not confirm that to TV Line.

The news on Michael Chiklis’ role comes a couple weeks after returning cast member Sarah Paulson tweeted a photo of her character – conjoined twins Bette and Dot.
