“America’s Got Talent” Season 11 winner Grace Vanderwaal recently won the best new artist category at the Radio Disney Music Awards 2017.

The 13-year-old campaigned for votes from her millions of fans on social media over the past couple of weeks. Vanderwaal was nominated alongside John Bellion, Jordan Fisher, Julia Michaels and Noah Cyrus.

Following Saturday night’s awards ceremony, Vanderwaal shared a video on Instagram thanking all of her fans for their support. In the clip, the “Clay” singer holds the adorable golden Disney-inspired trophy.

Vanderwaal also thanked the creators and producers of Radio Disney Music Awards 2017 for including her in their list of nominees. She also expressed her gratitude to her friends and loved ones for supporting her throughout her entire journey. Vanderwaal ended her speech by saying that she loves all of her supporters and is grateful to each and every one of them.

Meanwhile, it’s been a year since Vanderwaal first made headlines in the entertainment world. In 2016, she auditioned for NBC’s hit reality TV competition, “America’s Got Talent,” and was one of the few contestants who received the golden buzzer. Judge Howie Mandel saw potential in Vanderwaal almost instantaneously, and this is why he decided to give her the privilege to immediately advance to the next round of the competition.

From her first audition, Vanderwaal sang an original composition, titled “I Don’t Know My Name.” After receiving the prestigious golden buzzer, she immediately advanced to the quarter finals, where she performed a song she wrote for her older sister. Just like “I Don’t Know My Name,” Vanderwaal’s “Beautiful Thing” became an instant hit. After the votes were cast, Vanderwaal also advanced to the semi-finals where she performed “Light the Sky.” And for the grand finals, she sang “Clay.”

Following her successful stint in “America’s Got Talent” Season 11, Vanderwaal headlined four sold-out concerts in Las Vegas. She also signed a record deal under Simon Cowell’s label, SyCo Records. With the help of Cowell and the other record producers, Vanderwaal was able to release her EP, “Perfectly Imperfect,” four months after bringing home the $1 million grand prize from “AGT.” “Perfectly Imperfect” featured all four of her original songs, along with a fifth track titled “Gossip Girl.”

At present, Vanderwaal is working on her first full-length album. While speaking with Bustle, she shared some exciting information about her upcoming project. “It’s kind of a work in progress. It’s not even close to done, but it’s coming up, and I’m excited about it. It’s gonna be the fun, cool, awesome one. I’m really excited. I want to put a little more into this one, a little more depth,” she said, adding that she hopes her album will be released sometime in September.

But ahead of her full-length album’s release, Vanderwaal was first kept busy by her numerous engagements. Last month, she went to Austria for the Special Olympics. While there, she was able to perform with one of her idols in the music industry, Jason Mraz. She also traveled to London recently, but it is unclear whether or not this had something to do with her upcoming appearance on “Britain’s Got Talent.”
