Iconic musician Amy Winehouse will be inducted into the Music Walk of Fame next month. The singer, who passed away in 2011, will be honored with a tablet made up of metal that will be unveiled on March 4 to celebrate her career.

According to NME, the ceremony will be followed by a fundraiser hosted by the Amy Winehouse foundation. Winehouse’s parents issued a statement on receiving the honor and noted that the whole family is absolutely “delighted” that their daughter's legacy is being celebrated in such a manner.

Her parents also added that it is lovely to see Winehouse getting the honor in her favorite town of Camden in North London.

“We all know how much Amy adored her beloved Camden, so how fitting that her name is now part of the very fabric of the place she loved. To be part of the ‘Music Walk of Fame’ is such a great honor. We are absolutely delighted that Amy’s musical legacy is being celebrated this way,” the statement said.

The “Rehab” hitmaker, who had a very public struggle with drugs and alcohol addiction, died July 23, 2011 at the age of 27, robbing the world of what promised to be a remarkable music career. However, the jazz singer-turned-soul diva left behind plenty of work for fans to enjoy.

The R&B and soul performer was found dead by her bodyguard in her London home. It was reported that two empty vodka bottles were found on the singer’s bedroom floor. Winehouse had a blood-alcohol level that was five times the legal driving limit.

The singer is one of several musicians and celebrities to meet an untimely demise as a result of alcohol abuse. Celebrities like Prince, Philip Seymor Hoffman, Whitney Houston, Heath Ledger, Michael Jackson, and most recently, Juice WRLD also suffered the same fate.

Apart from Winehouse, Madness and Soul II Soul will also be honored with a recognition on the Music Walk Of Fame. Formed in 1976, Madness is an English band that started its musical journey in Camden. The band currently consists of six active members – Chris Foreman (Guitar), Mike Barson (Keyboard and Piano), Lee Thompson (Saxophone), Graham McPherson (Lead Vocals), Dan Woodgate (Drums), and Mark Bedford (Bass Guitar).
