“The Bachelor” franchise has lost another couple. Andi Dorfman and Josh Murray of Season 10 of “The Bachelorette” have split after five months. The couple, who got engaged during the 2014 finale in July, made their final TV appearance as a couple at the Season 19 live premiere of “The Bachelor” Monday.

In a reveal that took fans by surprise, the reality TV couple released a statement on Thursday to announce their breakup:

“After several months of being engaged and working on our relationship, we have decided that it’s best for both of us to go our separate ways. We are very sad that it has come to this point, but this is what’s best for both of us individually. We will continue to be good friends and have nothing but great things to say about each other and wish each other the best.”

While no additional information on the split has surfaced, Murray, 30, took to Instagram on Thursday to share his struggles with the end of his engagement. The post was deleted, but according to Us Weekly, the Instagram photo showed a “silhouette of a man kneeling with one arm raised to the sky.” The caption read: “Lord, help me to have faith in your plan.” The former couple otherwise has remained silent on social media.

This is far from the first “Bachelor” franchise relationship to fail. However, the split comes as a shock to those who have followed Murray and Dorfman’s journey to love. While on the red carpet for Chris Soules’ season on Monday, the duo appeared to be happy and enjoying each other’s company. When host Chris Harrison questioned them about their wedding plans, Dorfman, 27, showed no signs of problems.

“We haven’t had time yet,” she dished of the ceremony, explaining that they were simply looking forward to “settling down.” Murray added that he was ready to drink wine and taste food.

Dorfman and Murray had kept breakup rumors at bay with a steady stream of Instagram photos over the past few weeks. The "Bachelorette” star posted a handful of photos of her fiancé over the holidays, the most recent images being of them traveling to the "Bachelor” premiere and hanging out at the event with Nikki Ferrell of Juan Pablo’s season.
