'Animal Crossing: New Horizons' Introduces New Seasonal Item For September

Following the precedent set by the Thank-You Mom mug in May, a new seasonal item has arrived for “Animal Crossing: New Horizons” for the month of September.

From Sept. 7 to Oct. 7, players of “Animal Crossing: New Horizons” can order the moon rug from the seasonal section of the catalog, as reported by NintendoLife.

The start of autumn in “Animal Crossing: New Horizons” has presented a variety of new collectibles to accumulate for players. A certain item can only be gathered for a certain period of time every season, and previous seasons have seen summer shells and young spring bamboo already come and go.

Players are now able to gather up acorns and pinecones from trees, and the fall DIYs that they can be used on can be found in Balloons. Salmon and King Salmon joined the new bugs and fish for September, but they only last for the duration of the month, ScreenRant notes.

Literally a rug in the image of a moon, the moon rug goes well with the already existing space furniture series. Moon viewing day, a Japanese holiday celebrated when the full moon is viewable in autumn, is the occasion commemorated by the presence of the moon rug.

On top of the moon rug, a grape festival is celebrated in European countries like Spain, Italy, France, and Germany. Thus, a grape harvest basket is another season item available to order.

Both items are quite cheap and easy to purchase, with the moon rug costing 2,000 bells while the grape harvest basket is more affordable at 800 bells. Should players want to purchase a select quantity of these items though, they will have to deal with only being able to order five items a day through the Nook catalog.

However, since there is an entire month to purchase these items, that’s a lot of time allotted to order as many as needed, Should the players want to bring in more people for the festivities, they can also send these items as gifts to other players.

This is only the beginning of the fall season and already marks a good start. Since a Halloween update is expected sometime during the same season, players are already making wishlists for what they want to see next in “Animal Crossing: New Horizons.”
