A look at the iOS 13 code reveals that Apple plans to release new Smart Battery cases for the new iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max, a report reveals.

Smartphone users who are always on the go are looking for ways to prolong the battery life of their devices. In an attempt to prolong the battery life of last year’s iPhone lineup, Apple released Smart Battery cases for the iPhone XR, iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max.

The Smart Battery cases added significant battery life to the iPhones, which made them an essential accessory especially for those who are almost always away from power outlets. These cases, however, added more juice in exchange for something that’s not as enticing as added battery life: an unsightly bulk.

Apple decided to improve on the iPhone’s battery and gave the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max longer battery life compared to their predecessors. A report from 9To5Mac, however, reveals that the added battery life wasn’t enough for the Cupertino tech giant.

According to 9To5Mac, a look at the iOS 13.1 code reveals product identifiers proving that Smart Battery cases for the iPhone 11 lineup are coming soon.

“I can confirm that there are references to three new Smart Battery Case models that can be found inside iOS 13.1,” 9To5Mac’s Guilherme Rambo said. “The model codes are A2180, A2183 and A2184, presumably for the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and iPhone 11 Pro Max, respectively.”

Those who worry that the new cases might feature the same bulk as that of the cases released for the older iPhone models can take refuge at the thought that this year’s iPhone lineup are thicker and have more protruding camera modules at the back, Forbes noted.

Bulky or not, the new Smart Battery cases can be expected to extend the new iPhone lineup’s battery life. This means users can take more photos at night using Night Mode, can play Apple Arcade games longer, and can enjoy making more slofies anytime they want.

Apple didn’t leave any clue as to possible release dates, though. Stay tuned for more updates on the new Smart Battery cases as they come.
