Surprise! “Game of Thrones” stars Maisie Williams and Sophie Turner are joining the star-studded cast of Apple’s “Carpool Karaoke: The Series” show for its streaming service, Apple Music. The actresses revealed the good news to their fans on Twitter.

On Sunday, Williams and Turner recorded a video of them announcing their involvement with the upcoming series. The two stars delivered the good news to their fans straight from SXSW 2017, where they are filming their scenes for the show. The clip is currently up on the official Carpool Karaoke Twitter account.

The “Game of Thrones” actresses will be the latest duo to complete the 16 celebrity pairings that will be featured in the 16 half-hour episodes of the Apple Music-exclusive series. MacRumors says the premise of the show is basically making the pair of celebs drive around and sing tunes from their personal playlists inside the car. They are also expected to “surprise fans who don’t expect to see big stars belting out tunes” while hitting the road.

Other confirmed cast members of the show are Will Smith, Ariana Grande, Blake Shelton, Chelsea Handler, Billy Eichner, Seth MacFarlane, Michael Strahan, Shaquille O’Neal, Metallica, John Legend, John Cena and many more. Even James Corden who popularized “Carpool Karaoke” on his CBS late night show will be part of the series that is set to premiere in April, as per Apple Insider.

Apple is reportedly looking to build up the hype and establish a strong following for Apple Music through original content such as “Carpool Karaoke: The Series.” Other projects it is currently working on include ”Planet of the Apps” (a reality competition) and Dr. Dre’s semi-biographical series “Vital Signs.”

The Cupertino giant is believed to have turned to video content as a means of distinguishing its streaming service from main rival Spotify, which already boasts of twice as many paid subscribers.
