A new leak is suggesting that Apple is not just releasing four color variants for the upcoming iPhone 7, but five color options with the addition of a new new color, glossy black. The leak comes with photos to demonstrate what the new iPhone 7 color option would look like.

On Tuesday, MacRumors found an interesting leak from Japanese website Mac Otakara that claims that the Cupertino giant is launching a new color variant for its highly anticipated iPhone 7. Along with the Japanese blog entry are photo of an iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus mockups and a snap of iPhone 7 SIM trays in five different colors.

With the arrival of this new report, MacRumors believes that as opposed to earlier rumors claiming that Apple is ditching the Space Gray color option, the iPhone maker could just be adding a new color option to offer consumers five color variants when the iPhone 7 officially debuts. Thus, it is possible that the world will see Space Gray, Silver, Gold, Rose Gold and Glossy Black iPhone 7 handsets when Apple holds its Sept. 7 launch event.

Giving a clear description on how the Glossy Black iPhone 7 would look like, 9To5Mac likens the rumored color variant to the Space Black Apple Watch and the black 2013 Mac Pro, adding that the new color is simply a darker shade of the Space Gray variant with the addition of a glossy finish.

9To5Mac also claims that the new Space Gray color option will have a darker shade than the Slate iPhone 5 variant and that the leaked photos may be hinting at a darker Space Gray color option for the iPhone 7 than the one that is seen with the device’s predecessor, the iPhone 6s. The photo of the mockups appears to give a clear picture on how this darker Space Gray variant would look like.

Finally, the Mac Otakara report says that both the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus will have optical image stabilization, and this is considered an upgrade compared to the iPhone 6s and the iPhone 6s Plus line wherein the larger variant is the only one to sport OIS.

Apple is expected to publicly unveil the 4.7-inch iPhone 7 and the 5.5-inch iPhone 7 Plus during its Sept. 7 media event at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco. The devices are rumored to be released on Sept. 16.
