Arsenal could be looking to bolster its attacking force by considering a transfer move for one of Ligue 1’s top goalscorers.

Mikel Arteta has previously set the record straight, pointing out that his team needs to score goals this season. The Gunners have gone goalless in three of their last four losses across all competitions.

To put an end to the scoring drought, Arsenal is now eyeing to acquire for Boulaye Dia, Frence outlet Le10 Sport reported.

Dia has been spectacular for French top-flight club Stade de Reims, hauling eight goals in just 12 appearances.

The impressive stat puts the striker second in Ligue 1’s list of current top goalscorers, only behind Paris Saint-Germain superstar Kylian Mbappe, who has tallied a total of 10 goals in 10 games for the reigning champions.

The Senegalese booter is locked in with Stade de Reims until 2022 and is valued at around $8.7 million per Transfermarkt.

Aside from Arsenal, Brighton and Everton are also among the English Premier League clubs mentioned as Dia’s early suitors, the report added.

While Dia is best known for his gunslinging antics on the field, he is likewise a versatile player who can function in the right-wing as well as upfront.

Apart from Dia, Arsenal has also been linked with a few possible signings in the coming transfer windows. Porto midfielder Fabio Vieira and Villareal defender Pau Torres are also reportedly on the Gunners’ radar.

As Arsenal’s search for a prolific striker continues, Premier League legend Louis Saha recently named one player who could provide an immediate solution to Arteta’s attacking deficiency.

For Saha, Arsenal should consider re-signing Olivier Giroud.

The former Manchester United striker also pointed out that Giroud might not be the most versatile stalwart there is but could still help in terms of scoring.

“Olivier Giroud could be a good option for Arsenal if they were to re-sign him,” Saha told Genting Bet. “He is a top striker. He might not always give you the style that you want. But he is always questioned and stands up to answer them.”

“Any side in England would love to have a Giroud on top form in their team,” he continued.
