Ubisoft has finally broken the silence on “Assassin’s Creed Syndicate” following massive leaks for the title. Most of the new information corroborate the rumors that have leaked or add new details to what fans already know.

Previously, what was known was the name of one main protagonist, Jacob Frye. However, according to Ubisoft, there will be two playable characters. Apart from Jacob, his twin sister Evie will also be a playable main stay.

The world of “Assassin’s Creed Syndicate” will see something new on the seat power, and it’s ironically money. Both the Church and the monarchy are losing their hold as the lower classes resort to violence to attain money. The Templars are in control of the city, with the Assassin Brotherhood dissipated. But the twin protagonists are aiming to take back the city.

IGN adds that the playable characters are polar ends of each other, which make the option of freely switching between the two an even better experience. This, of course, has its limitations, particularly for story missions where the narration will dictate who players will need to play as. Citing an anonymous source, Gematsu reported that a 75% of the narrative will require the Jacob, while only a quarter will be for the sister.

For “Assassin’s Creed Syndicate,” only single-player is offered, as the plan is to deliver the biggest open-world experience in the franchise. There will also be activities and side quests, most of which are concentrated on winning back the gangs in London.

Playing the game will bring back a sense of familiarity and excitement. Ubisoft states that there will be new tools and weapons that come in handy, like the hallucinogenic darts that can cause an explosion of hallucinogenic gas when used creatively. Carriages on the streets can be used, whether they’re occupied or not. So expect a Victorian-style street chase, as the enemies can also do the same stunts.

With eyes now on Ubisoft’s next “Assassin’s Creed” installment, hints of a release date has also been sighted. According to Polygon, “Assassin’s Creed Syndicate” will arrive during the holidays, as stated in a marketing promotional material. However, no other specifics were given by the publisher.

In addition to the release date, the obtained marketing promotional material also revealed the setting of the game, which is in London. Specifically, it will be set during the Industrial Revolution, which will be recreated in a very immersive world. Other previously leaked details in the material include the preorder bonus at GameStop, which involves a replica of the necklace worn by the protagonist in “Assassin’s Creed Syndicate.”

While the above incentive has not yet been officially announced, Kotaku has a confirmed preorder bonus from GameStop, which are the conspiracy missions involving Charles Darwin and Charles Dickens. It requires both from protecting the two Charles from getting killed because of their discoveries and secrets respectively.

“Assassin’s Creed Syndicate” is headed for the PS4, Xbox One and PC. The previously unspecified timeline for release has been whittled down and confirmed to an Oct. 23 release date for the consoles. The PC version is still tagged for release in the fall.
