  • "Assassin's Creed Valhalla" is the latest installment in the "AC" franchise

  • "Assassin's Creed Valhalla" was released in November 2020

A new set of leaked details reveals that "Assassin's Creed: Valhalla" could soon introduce the mystical world of Muspelheim.

"Assassin's Creed" insider j0nathan revealed he uncovered mentions of Muspelheim in the game's files. Apparently, recent data mining activities suggest the fiery Norse realm of fire giants and demons could arrive in "Assassin's Creed Valhalla" via future expansion.

On Twitter, j0nathan shared an image of a data mine, which points that the underworld realm could launch in the game soon.

The insider's claim aligns with the early concept art for the hellish underworld released by Ubisoft for "Assassin's Creed Valhalla." Unfortunately, the final game does not feature the realm. In the base "Assassin's Creed Valhalla" title, players can only explore Jotunheim and Asgard. Ubisoft's concept art references Muspelheim in a pack of fire-themed cosmetic items.

In Norse mythology, Muspelheim is the place where fire giants and the demonic Surtur live. However, the "AC" insider warned fans that these mentions and references to Muspelheim could be just remnants of something that might have not made it to the officially released game. Fans should therefore temper their expectations regarding this leak.

Ubisoft has been modest in revealing its plans for "Assassin's Creed Valhalla" after 2021. Earlier, developers announced Paris and Ireland expansions and neither of these upcoming locations are known to feature mythical realms. Previous "Assassin's Creed" titles have never received any post-launch content for a couple of years in a row.

However, "Assassin's Creed Valhalla" is still a very popular game, even after several months following its official release. This could open the possibility to a third unannounced DLC, which could be set in Musphelheim. Ubisoft has not yet made any comments on this recent leak about Muspelheim.

The industry insider also shared earlier his other finds in the files of "Assassin's Creed Valhalla." This includes supposed maps for the Paris and Ireland expansions, as well as the Isu cosmetic pack.

Meanwhile, Ubisoft is set to launch the Wrath of the Druids DLC of "Assassin's Creed Valhalla" on May 13, following its delayed-release. The new expansion would bring Eivor to Ireland and allow him to meet the Children of Danu.
