  • Jack Grealish has consistently served Aston Villa as their captain
  • Darren Bent shared that Grealish has a lot of skills to offer for other clubs
  • Bent added that Grealish would want Manchester United to recruit him heavily like Jadon Sancho

For months, Manchester United’s front office has been in hot pursuit for Borussia Dortmund’s star Jadon Sancho. While no deal has materialized yet, Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish would want the Red Devils to pay attention to his capabilities as a star according to former player Darren Bent.

The 24-year-old Grealish has been a tremendous piece for Aston Villa as he’s served as a reliable player for the club. In 187 appearances, he’s netted 25 goals, 31 assists and is currently leading as the team captain. Known as a strong passer and an excellent dribbler, Grealish has served as a valuable piece to his club’s offense.

"Do I think he will leave Villa? Yes, but no one has come in and given £50 million, which has really surprised me," Bent said by way of Goal.

The current value of Grealish is estimated to be at around 40 million Euros. As one of the stars of Aston Villa, he’s considered as a valuable asset for any team to have.

"I thought straight away that it would be between three or four clubs,” Bent continued.

In the latest Premier League, Grealish started in all 36 games he played and was a consistent force on the pitch.

"Arguably, he could get into any squad in the Premier League but no one has gone in and said 'here we go, we will take him'. It is good for Villa, we know how much he is loved there, but for Jack, is it what he wants to do,” Bent added.

With Aston Villa finishing 17th in the Premier League standings, the club is looking to improve their roster moving forward.

There are questions of whether Grealish will nourish staying with Aston Villa or develop further on a different squad. There will be a possible compromise of his playing time if he ends up with a team loaded with stars.

"It is an important time for him but if he continues [progressing], then I think he will be in the England squad. Jack could go to Spurs and get right in the team, make them better but he will have seen his name linked to United for some time,” Bent quipped.

The expectations are high in Manchester United for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s roster. With crafty veterans and developing players leading the lineup, they’ve also been an aggressive suitor for Sancho.

"He will want that to be his next step but it is hard to get into those clubs. You need luck, ability and you need someone to really fancy signing you. Man United are battering down the door to sign Sancho and I am sure that Grealish would want it to be him,” Bent concluded.

It will be interesting to see where Grealish will end up in the near future and if Manchester United ends up with a big signing in the coming months.
