  • Grealish's agent says no deal has been reached with Man Utd
  • Along with Sancho, Grealish has been Man Utd's top targets this summer
  • He has scored nine goals so far this campaign

Jack Grealish’s agent has dismissed reports that Manchester United have agreed to a deal with Aston Villa for his client’s transfer.

Having scored nine goals in 36 matches and captaining a struggling Aston Villa, Grealish has been identified as one of Man Utd’s top transfer targets this summer by club’s manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. The two clubs are set to face off in the Premier League later this week and Solskjaer has already warned his players about Grealish's brilliance on the field.

Irrespective of Aston Villa’s result in the Premier League this season, a club that is fighting to escape relegation into the Championship, Grealish has decided to leave his boyhood club this summer. In order to cash in on their asset, Aston Villa have reportedly labeled Grealish with a hefty price of $93 million.

Man Utd executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward has said the upcoming transfer window will not be a normal business for the Red Devils, who are running with a restricted budget after being hit financially by the coronavirus pandemic. Despite this, Man Utd are understood to be pushing for Grealish’s signatures ahead of the 2020-21 campaign.

Tim Sherwood, who was Grealish’s manager at Aston Villa five years ago, last week suggested that Man Utd had already agreed to a deal for the talented midfielder.

Reacting to transfer rumors doing the rounds involving Grealish, his agent Jonathan Barnett has rubbished the reports saying "no deal has been done with anyone."

"Absolutely no deal has been done with anybody," Jonathan Barnett said in a recent interview, as per English publication Metro.UK. When asked if 18-placed Aston Villa are being ambitious by quoting $93 million for Grealish considering they may not play in the Premier League next season, Barnett said, "I don’t think they are looking at the Championship themselves. They believe that hopefully, they’ll get out of the trouble they’re in."

He went on to add that Grealish’s focus, at the moment, is just on helping Aston Villa escape the relegation.

"Jack believes it, he’s fighting hard, as hard as he can to stop that. That’s all that is on his mind at the moment. He’s not interested in anything else other than fighting to get Aston Villa out of any trouble," added Barnett in the same interview.
