After a rocky start, 2020 is shaping up to be a year for Bachelor Nation couples to thrive -- like Victoria Fuller and Chris Soules.

Victoria, a former contestant on Peter Weber's season of ABC's "The Bachelor," began dating Chris just as the coronavirus pandemic was revving up and unlike most relationships from the franchise, they are still thriving.

"We're really happy," the 26-year-old dished to People. "The last few months have been really special for us. We're enjoying each other!"

In addition to expressing her feelings regarding the budding relationship, Victoria opened up about how the two connected and revealed that fellow "Bachelor" contestant and Iowa native Kelsey Weir actually had a hand in the matter and encouraged Victoria to shoot her shot.

"She was like, 'I think he's single and he's very attractive, you should talk to him,' " Victoria explained.

"[Chris] ended up texting me [in March]," she said. "Some people said he slid into my DMs, but he literally owns an iPhone 2 and can barely send out a text! But if he had, I would have responded."

Not too long after that, Victoria was on a plane to Iowa to see the 38-year-old in his hometown of Arlington.

"I think we were both really nervous," she explained of their first meeting. "But it wasn't awkward. It felt really natural. And immediately, I was like, 'I really like him!' I felt a genuine connection. And Iowa is so quiet — we were able to just focus on each other and enjoy each other's company."

Romance rumors between Victoria and Chris first swirled in late April after the model made an Instagram post with the geo-tag of Arlington, Iowa, and a caption that read "Farm life."
