Not so fast Bachelor Nation. If you thought Peter Weber defended Victoria Fuller's controversial modeling campaign -- think again.

"It’s definitely been tough to see this unfold. To be honest, I’m learning about all of this in real-time just like everybody else is," he told People. "At this point right now, I see a lot of headlines about my response, and my support has been taken out of context. I in no way support that kind of campaign."

The 28-year-old pilot reiterated that at the time of filming the ABC show, he knew nothing about the contestant participating in a clothing photoshoot which featured the slogan "White Lives Matter" and set the record straight on where he stands.

"I didn’t know anything about it during the time that Victoria and I were on the show together," he said. "I think it’s important to let Victoria make a comment to the public and make some type of response. It has a lot more to do with her than myself. I don’t want to speak on her behalf."

"My only problem is that I would never support any campaign like that," he added.

Peter's statement comes just days after he visited the Build Series in New York and was asked about the backlash Victoria F. has received. As viewers of "The Bachelor" know, Monday night's episode featured a group date in which the 26-year-old was chosen to be featured on the cover of Cosmopolitan magazine's March issue alongside Peter -- a prize that has since been retracted.

"All I can speak on is the time I was able to spend with Victoria throughout this experience," he said. "I truly enjoyed my experience with her. I really feel like she's, you know, a good person and she's got a lot of endearing qualities."

"I just hope people can form their opinion on her based on what they see between the two of us and her time on the show," Peter continued. "She's not perfect. I'm not perfect. No one's perfect but that's all I can really say on that."

Victoria hasn't responded to the debacle recently, but when a "Bachelor" fan account BachelorClues posted a photo of the model in early January before the season aired, she clarified that the campaign was actually in support of saving fish.

"Hello bachelor clues & followers!" she commented. "It would be nice for you to gather all facts before jumping to bash someone. The company 'We Love Marlins' is in support of catching white, blue, & black marlins & releasing them back into the wild. In regards to a sensitive topic, I come from a VERY large fishing town where Marlin tournaments are held every year! Glad to clear this up."

"I definitely see how this could be offensive," she admitted in a separate comment. "I apologize immensely it was never my intention to lessen this matter."

"The Bachelor" airs Mondays at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
