Season 1 of “Bachelor in Paradise” is coming to a close on Monday. The freshman season of the ABC “Bachelor” spinoff has been a wild ride for eliminated “Bachelor” and “Bachelorette” contestants – and the season finale is gearing up to be the most dramatic episode yet.

The synopsis for episode 7 teases the introduction of yet another shocking twist. Host Chris Harrison will return to inform the couples that they have to make a big decision immediately – “if they cannot see their relationships transitioning to their lives back home, they must leave paradise immediately.”

The twist will kick off the episode with a “series of dramatic breakups.” But that doesn’t mean the remaining couples are in the safe zone. Those left in paradise will get the opportunity to embark on a romantic overnight date … that could potentially end in heartbreak.

One couple will spend the night at the Dreams Tulum Resort & Spa. The bachelorette will tell her man, “I love you” – something he is “delighted to hear.” Another couple will enjoy the day at Papaya Playa, but their date won’t be all about frolicking on the beach. The bachelorette is concerned that their relationship is moving too fast. The third and final couple will head to Serenity Wellness Resort, where one bachelorette is “excited to spend the night with her man in their fantasy suite.” But will her man feel the same way?

Two of the women will be happy when they return from their overnight dates, with one bachelorette even revealing that she officially has a boyfriend now. But another will find herself upset about the lack of passion during her date. She’ll confront her man – leaving him stunned.

The “Bachelor in Paradise” finale will also act as a reunion show for successful “Bachelor” and Bachelorette” couples. Jason and Molly Mesnick, Sean and Catherine Lowe and Desiree Hartsock and Chris Siegfried will enter paradise to give advice, interview the couples and test the “strength of their relationships.”

The final rose ceremony will feature one couple exchanging roses and professing their love for one another – but will they be the only two to find happiness in paradise? Another couple will make it to the last ceremony, but the bachelor will become nervous and whisk his lady away from prying eyes.

Will the “Bachelor in Paradise” Season 1 finale end in tears of joy … or tears of sadness? Episode 7 will air on ABC on Monday, Sept. 8, at 8 p.m. EDT. Tweet your thoughts to @AmandaTVScoop.
