Fans of “The Bachelorette” don’t have to wait until next Monday to find out what happens with Chad. After getting pulled aside by host Chris Harrison in episode 3, Chad was told to make things right with the other guys. But the episode ended with Chad threatening to remove some body parts.

Episode 4 on Tuesday picks up with Chad facing the guys after his conversation with Chris. But Chad doesn’t explode. Instead he reasonably explains that he’s not there to start any problems, he just wants to be left alone. That’s not good enough for Evan, who insists that Chad owes him a new shirt and an apology. Chad doesn’t know what else to say, so he tells Evan that he’ll toss him $20 — but he’s certainly not apologizing for anything. In fact, he’s sticking by his story that Evan pushed him. Bold move, my friend.

Everyone kind of accepts what Chad says, but Wells chimes in and says the rest of the guys need to be able to feel comfortable in the house. Chad tells the cameras that the only thing he can do is give them space so they realize he’s not that bad of a guy.

The Pool Party

JoJo arrives at the house with the hope that the pool party will allow everyone to relax and have fun. And it works! The whole gang even gets in on synchronized diving — which accidentally leads to a little bit of drama. Evan gets a nosebleed and everyone jokes that it was Chad, who was really “100 feet away” at the time. That only gets Chad’s blood boiling as he tells the cameras that Evan bleeds just thinking about him.

JoJo also gets some one-on-one time with the guys, using her time with Jordan to talk about their relationship. She can’t deny that there is a connection between them. And based on how handsy they get, it seems safe to say that Jordan feels the chemistry too. Despite the mutual feelings, JoJo is still nervous about Jordan. She tells him that she’s worried he’s “too good to be true.”

JoJo’s conversation with Chad goes a little differently. She admits that she was mad at him for his outburst the other day, and Chad tries to explain. He tells her that it’s frustrating for him to see her keep Evan around because they’re both so different.

Chad uses his time to try to clear his name, but a couple of the other men use their time to continue tarnishing it. Both Alex and Derek talk to JoJo about Chad’s erratic behavior and their need to have a security guard in the mansion. Unfortunately for Derek, Chad overhears his conversation, which leads to an uncomfortable confrontation when JoJo leaves.

Chad pulls Derek aside and tells him that “whatever guy like me stole your girlfriend, it wasn’t me.” Derek fires back that his comment is exactly the reason the guys in the house have a problem with him. He even admits that he’s afraid of him because of how he flips on people. Chad still doesn’t get why he’s so wrapped up in what he’s doing, but Derek tells him that when it comes to a girl he’s interested in, he’s going to stand up for what’s right. Nothing physical happens, but the others watch from the hallway to be sure.

The Week 3 Rose Ceremony

Evan, James T. and Chase are the only contestants safe heading into the week 4 rose ceremony. Grant lands the first rose, followed by Derek, Jordan, Luke, Robby, Wells, James F., Vinny, Daniel and Alex. The final rose of the night goes to Chad, sending home Nick B., Christian and Ali. Needless to say, the guys are shocked at JoJo’s decision. But everyone is willing to try to leave the drama behind when they pack their bags for Pennsylvania.

One-On-One Date

Luke lands the one-on-one date in episode 4, and accompanies JoJo on a romantic dogsled ride through the woods. The two warm up in a ridiculously hot — so hot that Luke has to actually hold JoJo and slowly lower her in — wood fire tub.

JoJo is definitely physically attracted to him, but can they connect on an emotional level? Luke opens up about being in the army over dinner. Telling JoJo about his time in Afghanistan allows her to see a different side of him. Feeling a new confidence in their relationship, JoJo gives him the date rose. The two end their night at a Dan & Shay concert.

Group Date

Derek, James T., Daniel, Chase, Wells, Vinny, James F., Evan, Grant, Jordan and Robby head out on the group date this week. That means that Chad and Alex will be going on the two-on-one date. Awkward! As Alex puts it, it’s “good v. evil.” But Chad is pretty confident that he has it in the bag.

The guys head to Pittsburgh’s Heinz Field to meet Ben Roethlisberger, Hines Ward and Brett Keisel. The football stars put the contestants to the test before pitting them against each other in a game. With extra time with JoJo on the line, the guys get super competitive. Evan gets a bloody nose, and James T. gets a nasty cut above his line. Although he needs stitches, James T. sticks it out in order to prove how dedicated he is to JoJo. Fortunately it works out in his favor, because his team wins the game.

The winning team gets some extended alone time with JoJo to help secure their relationships. Robby gets a boost of encouragement after JoJo tells him that she feels that they’re progressing even without really getting quality time. He’s confident that he’s going to get the group date rose, but JoJo gives it to Jordan. She had a really great night with him and is happy that he admitted that he’s falling for her.

The Two-On-One date

There is a lot of tension in the house heading into the two-on-one date. The guys are hoping Chad will be going home, and Chad doesn’t appreciate that. At one point he tries to call out Jordan and threatens to find him after filming ends.

Alex and Chad leave for the date, and it turns out that JoJo is just as nervous about the afternoon. She has “instant chemistry” with Chad, but likes what a stand-up guy Alex is. She’s just not sure if she can take her relationship with Alex to the next level.

The trio meet in the middle of the woods for a hike. They set up a picnic near a river, where they settle into an awkward silence. She decides to pull Alex aside first, and learns about the incident with Jordan from the morning. She’s shocked at what she hears, and asks to hear Chad’s side of the story. Unfortunately for Alex, that requires JoJo to mention what he told her.

Chad is furious that Alex talked to JoJo about him. He tries to explain to JoJo that he’s not an “aggressive guy,” it’s just that the other guys are pushing and pressuring him. JoJo’s disappointed by what she hears, but she’s not ready to say goodbye to him just yet. She tells him that she needs to think and walks away. In a bit of a rage, Chad throws his cup into the river.

JoJo’s not sure what to do. While she doesn’t like his behavior, she does see his softer side. She also suspects that he’s struggling to deal with the loss of his mom from six months prior.

Chad heads back to the picnic where Alex is. He’s whistling while a voiceover reveals that he has “no options left” when it comes to dealing with Alex.

“I’m not very happy with you,” he tells his nemesis. “I’m not mad. I’m just disappointed. It’s just unfortunate that I can’t hurt you right now without getting in trouble.”

JoJo returns, and things somehow manage to get worse. In front of Alex, JoJo tells Chad that he has disappointed her. She asks if he made any threats in the house, and when he tells her it’s “not 100 percent false” she decides to send him packing. In a brutal breakup, JoJo tells Chad that he’s not the person he says he is, and that his violent behavior is unacceptable. She gives Alex the date rose and walks away with him without giving Chad a second look.

The guys are celebrating back at the house when someone comes to collect Chad’s bag. But unfortunately their “Chad-mare” is not over. The cameras follow him as he whistles his way through the dark woods and ends up at the back door of the bachelor house.
