Barnes & Noble Inc said late Wednesday that all customers who preordered its Nook electronic reader, which was expected to miss Christmas delivery to customers.

A spokeswoman for Barnes & Noble said the company expects to issue a very small number of $100 gift certificates to individuals who won’t receive the device by December 24, according to Dow Jones.

The retailer first said last week it would miss Christmas delivery thanks to production delays.

The spokeswoman added that new orders for the Nook would be fulfilled beginning Feb. 1.
