  • Bayern Munich is not selling Robert Lewandowski this summer
  • The Polish striker set the club's single-season scoring record with 41 goals
  • FC Cologne will be visiting Bayern Munich this Sunday, August 22

Bayern Munich is finally putting their foot down on any and all transfer rumors regarding veteran striker Robert Lewandowski.

There were reports that suggested the Polish striker was looking at a move away from the club as he was “in search of a new challenge elsewhere”.

The Bayern Munich striker has been with the club since making the jump from Borussia Dortmund in 2014 for a five-year contract.

The Bundesliga champions had placed a £110 million ($150 million) price tag on his head if any club were truly interested in signing him this summer.

Chelsea was reportedly interested in the prolific striker this summer but had decided to sign Romelu Lukaku for a cheaper deal.

Goal confirms that Lewandowski is not going anywhere this summer as Lewandowski has accepted his role at Bayern Munich and that he will continue to play for the club as normal heading into their Bundesliga fixture against FC Cologne at home on Sunday.

It is believed that Lewandowski’s decision to not push for a transfer this summer is due to the fact that his contract expires in the summer of 2023, which makes a transfer would be much easier then than now.

The 33-year-old Lewandowski finished another spectacular season at the Allianz Arena setting the club’s single-season scoring record of 41 goals in just 29 appearances, showing that he’s still as effective as ever at putting the ball in the back of the net.

Lewandowski’s career at Bayern Munich has been nothing short of spectacular as his goal count is currently at 204 across 220 total appearances, leading the club to seven consecutive titles.

Bayern Munich started their season with a one-goal draw against Borussia Monchengladbach last Saturday and pulled off a three-goals-to-one victory against his former club Borussia Dortmund in the Supercup finals last Tuesday, August 17.
