Tom (Ryan Eggold) will go rogue in "The Blacklist" Season 4, episode 4. NBC

“The Blacklist” Season 4 could see Tom Keen (Ryan Eggold) going rogue and hunting down Alexander Kirk (Ulrich Thomsen) on his own.

Based on the synopsis released by NBC, “The Blacklist” Season 4, episode 4, titled “Gaia,” will see Red (James Spader) and Elizabeth Keen (Megan Boone) once again tracking down one of Kirk’s associates who can help them trace his whereabouts. However, the description also teased that Tom will go off on his own and do his own investigation of the man who kidnapped his daughter Agnes.

“As Red (James Spader) sets Liz (Megan Boone) and the Task Force on the trail of an eco-terrorist with a mysterious connection to Alexander Kirk, Tom (Ryan Eggold) takes matters into his own hands,” reads the synopsis, according to CarterMatt.

In “The Blacklist” Season 4, episode 3, Kirk’s motivation for abducting Liz and Agnes was finally revealed and it turns out he wasn’t interested in a simple family reunion. Kirk is dying of a rare blood disorder that affects the men of the Rostov family and needs regular blood transfusions from a direct relative. And though Liz got away, he still has her daughter Agnes, so it’s no surprise that Kirk has no plans of returning his granddaughter anytime soon.

More details about Liz’s past and Red’s history with her parents were also revealed in last Thursday’s episode. After breaking into an FBI agent’s office, Liz found her mother’s (Lotte Verbeek) journal, which brought back more memories of Katarina Rostova. Liz recalled her mother writing down her thoughts in the journal, including her feelings for Red. Like Tom, Katarina was also assigned to Red, but she fell in love with him.

Find out if Tom and Liz will finally get their daughter back when “The Blacklist” Season 4, episode 4 airs on Thursday, Oct. 13 at 9 p.m. ET on NBC. Meanwhile, watch the trailer for the upcoming episode of the NBC series below!
