Blackpink’s Lisa may be the most successful member of the group lately, but the 25-year-old admitted she was not expecting her first solo musical project to reach record-breaking success.

“I wasn’t expecting much in terms of results,” she said in a recent interview for the May cover story of Elle Korea magazine where she talked about the popularity of her album “Lalisa,” and her B-track single, “Money.”

“I simply thought that I’d do my best then gratefully accept whatever response I received, but [both songs] have been receiving love for such a long time now,” she shared. “It’s to the extent where I’m still consistently receiving ‘proof’ from foreign fans that they heard ‘MONEY’ at clubs [in their countries].”

Thailand-born Lalisa Manobal or simply, Lisa, is the third Blackpink member to release a solo project following Jennie Kim in 2018 and Roseann Park in March 2021.

Lisa debuted her self-titled solo album in September 2021 with its title track “Lalisa,” which quickly landed the No. 84 spot in the Billboard Hot 100. The upbeat track also debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard Global 200 chart and the Global Excl. U.S. chart. in December, Lisa became the first Korean soloist to enter Billboard's Pop Airplay chart.

The "How You Like That" singer credits her fans as her inspiration in doing her best in every show or musical project that she gets into.

She recalled in the interview with the outlet, “I once watched a video of a day where I performed on stage at a concert on the same day that I arrived after a long flight. I looked so excited and overflowing with energy in the video. It was a moment where I realized once again that I really get so much energy from my fans in person.”

Lisa, who is also Fashion luxury brand Celine’s global ambassador, previously thanked her fans for supporting “Money” after it became the most requested song on “Most Requested Live,” a program on streaming radio platform, iHeartRadio in 2021.

"I'm so thankful and happy that so many people are listening to my song. My team worked day and night on this project, so it really means a lot to all of us,” Lisa told host Michael Bennett in the interview in February.
