Blake Shelton joined the “greatest stars of our time” to pay tribute to Elvis Presley. Shelton was the host of the two-hour NBC special episode titled “Elvis All-Star Tribute,” and he also performed songs of the Rock and Roll icon.

“I’m here tonight because 50 years ago a King returned,” Shelton said as the host of the show.

Praising Presley, Shelton said that the King of Rock and Roll has long been imitated, but no one has been able to surpass the singing legend. The host further added that Presley “changed the game forever in music and television.”

The two-hour episode included performances by invited artists, each of whom recreated Presley’s songs from the “68 Comeback Special.” Shelton also performed a song onstage, and the song he chose was “Trouble”/“Guitar Man.”

Shelton got a black leather jacket and an electric guitar to match Presley’s look from the “68 Comeback Special” episode. A video of his performance has been shared by Billboard.

The one-minute video shows footage from Shelton’s performance that is spliced with the footage from the “68 Comeback Special” episode. The video gives the viewers a feeling of the two artists collaborating.

In an announcement Shelton posted on Instagram, the singer wrote that a video of another one of his performances is currently available on Apple music. Shelton was a part of the performance of Presley’s song, “If I Can Dream.”

In another post in Instagram, Shelton revealed a Presley cape that he seems to have received as a gift. Commenting on the post, many of the fans praised the singer for his performance in the “Elvis All-Star Tribute” special episode. The singer tried on the cape and imitated the King of Rock and Roll in the video.

The other artists in the special episode included Keith Urban, Shawn Mendes, John Fogerty, Ed Sheeran, Kelsea Ballerini, Jennifer Lopez, Darius Rucker, Alessia Cara, John Legend, Mac Davis, Adam Lambert, Little Big Town, Pistol Annies, Josh Groban and Dierks Bentley. Shelton also performed Presley’s song “Suspicious Minds.”
