‘Blindspot’
Will Nas (Archie Panjabi) return to “Blindspot” Season 2? NBC

“Blindspot” Season 2 recently saw Nas (Archie Panjabi) leaving her team in episode 18. Instead of holding Kurt (Sullivan Stapleton) accountable for the FBI team’s involvement in various crimes, Nas took the fall and decided to give up her position.

Nas’ tough decision has led viewers to think that Panjabi has already exited from the hit NBC TV series. Rumors about the actress’ departure from “Blindspot” heightened when TV Guide reported that Kurt, Jane (Jaimie Alexander) and their colleagues will have a new boss in the finale. Mary Stuart Masterson has been tapped to guest star in the final episode for Season 2.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, executive producer teased Nas’ fate and said that he hopes this won’t be the last time Panjabi will be seen in the show. “All I’ll say is this is not the last you’ll see of Archie, I think. When we were lucky enough to cast her, we kept expanding her role, because she’s so great and we love having her. Usually, with a character like this, we’d kill her off, but we just love having her around so much, and we didn’t need someone to die in this particular moment, so we left it with a question mark,” he explained.

Meanwhile, Gero also dished on what will happen to Kurt and his team now that Nas is no longer around. The exec said that Patterson (Ashley Johnson) will step up because Nas has been training her for the past couple of months. “She gave Patterson the keys to the kingdom, so to speak, in episodes 8 and 9. Patterson does have a lot of the access that Nas has. More importantly, she is given them the greatest going-away present ever, which is the access to Sandstorm’s funds,” he said.

“Blindspot” Season 2 airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. EST on NBC.
