‘Blindspot’
Kurt Weller (Sullivan Stapleton) is ready to find out more information about Shepherd in “Blindspot” Season 2, episode 16. NBC

“Blindspot” Season 2 star Sullivan Stapleton recently opened up about Kurt Weller’s connection to the villainous character Shepherd (Michelle Hurd).

In the previous episodes, it was revealed that Shepherd had been observing Kurt ever since he was a young boy. The leader of Sandstorm was also the one who paid for Kurt’s tuition. In the upcoming episode, Kurt and Shepherd will have a scene together that Stapleton is very proud of.

While speaking with TV Line, he expressed his gratitude toward the writers of the hit NBC series. “That’s what I love about our writers, how they throw the twists and turns in every week. It’s a great story, and it’s personal for Weller,” he said.

Meanwhile, “Blindspot” Season 2 went on a month-long hiatus and will be back with a new episode on Wednesday, March 22. In “Evil Did I Dwell, Lewd Did I Live,” Nas (Archie Panjabi) will be instrumental in linking Jane Doe (Jaimie Alexander) and Kurt to a Sandstorm insider who will give them information about the mysterious organization.

In an interview with TV Line, Panjabi also confirmed that one of the FBI team’s nemeses will offer to help them with their investigation. “Somebody who has been an enemy of the team actually joins the team, and helps them in their search for Sandstorm,” she said. Previously, Entertainment Weekly reported that Tom Lipinski will return on episode 16 to reprise his role as Cade.

In other news, the fate of “Blindspot” Season 3 has not yet been decided upon by the network executives. As of late, NBC shows such as “Superstore,” “The Goody Place,” “The Voice” and “This Is Us” have already been renewed for another run.

“Blindspot” Season 2 airs at 8 p.m. EST on NBC.
