“Blindspot” executive producer Martin Gero recently opened up about Rich Dotcom’s (Ennis Esmer) return to the hit NBC series.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Gero said that the Rich who will be featured in “Blindspot” Season 2, episode 14, titled “Borrow or Rob,” will be kinder and gentler than the one introduced in the previous installments. Since being sent to prison, he has found religion in the establishment, and it was not just one religion, but multiple ones. “He’s reading the Bible and the Quran and wearing a yarmulke and Tibetan monk robes. So, he’s really trying to convince us that he’s a more spiritual, deepened person now that he’s found himself, even though it seems to be a very scattered self,” he said.

Gero also dished on what Rich will be doing in the episode and why he has to work with Kurt Weller (Sullivan Stapleton) and his team. In “Blindspot” Season 2, episode 14, the FBI team would have to find information about a secret society that Rich was a member of. In order to have access to the group’s events, they need an insider to work with them.

A photo exclusively released by the publication also showed Rich and Kurt dancing at a party. When asked about what this could mean, Gero said that the scene has similarities with “True Lies.” “They’re trying to get to the bottom of a case while inconspicuously dancing. It’s a real treat. Those two love each other; Ennis and Sully just get along so, so well and they feel so safe with each other,” he said.

In other news, there are rumors that “Blindspot” will end after its current season. According to TV Line, it is possible that NBC will announce the cancellation of the Jaimie Alexander-starrer even before the finale airs. After all, the ratings for the TV show haven’t been as impressive as that of Season 1.

“Blindspot” Season 2, episode 14 will air on NBC on Feb. 15 at 8 p.m. EST.
