He went with her line, opting to let Steffy still design lingerie for Forrester, which meant Hope’s line was discontinued for the time being. However, Ridge may start to suffer consequences for his decision as a result on the Tuesday, Sept. 11 episode of “The Bold and the Beautiful.”

When he realized he would have to at least temporarily shut down production on either Steffy’s (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) lingerie line or Hope’s (Annika Noelle) Hope for the Future line, Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) was forced to make a decision that seemed impossible on the CBS soap. Still, in the end, against the wishes of his wife, Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang), he kept his daughter’s line, leaving Hope, Liam (Scott Clifton), Throne (Ingo Rademacher) and the rest of the staff working on the other line questioning what it meant for their futures.

Now, as he goes to watch Steffy lead the rest of the lingerie models in a run-through of their upcoming show, Ridge will explain why he opted to let his daughter win out, though she will note that it may cost him his happiness with Brooke as a result.

“I know you needed this,” Ridge says to Steffy in a preview clip for the episode.

“I just hope it doesn’t cause problems between you and Brooke,” Steffy muses.

Steffy had appealed to her father to choose her line because it was hard for her to watch Hope and Liam working together, even though she voluntarily stepped away and told them to be together as a family. As a result, Ridge decided to let her have a win since Hope was the one who got to be with the man they both loved. Still, even if his intentions to help his daughter were pure, it doesn’t mean Brooke is understanding. In fact, she will check in with Hope to see how she’s feeling, though her daughter may surprise her by admitting that she isn’t surprised by how things turned out in the end.

“I’m not surprised that I lost out to Steffy,” she says in the preview clip.

“The Bold and the Beautiful” airs weekdays at 1:30 p.m. EDT on CBS.
