The time has come to make a decision about which line will be better for Forrester’s bottom line, and now, Ridge will have to choose, breaking either Steffy or Hope’s heart in the process on the Friday, Sept. 7 episode of “The Bold and the Beautiful.”

Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) informed Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) and Hope (Annika Noelle) that one of their lines would have to cease production, bringing a rivalry between the two women once again on the CBS soap. Now, Steffy has admitted to Hope that she made a case to promote herself, and also indicated Hope should give up because she allowed her to have Liam (Scott Clifton). As a result, the women are engaged in a harsh discussion down in the backstage area.

“Do you know how hard I’ve worked on this and what it means to me?” Hope asks in a preview clip for the episode.

However, Steffy will coldly reply to Hope that her line, which promotes values and charity, won’t have a long-term success rate, which is why her line is the one she intends to make sure is saved.

“Sex sells better than lofty ideals,” she says. “Profits matter.”

Meanwhile, Ridge is dealing with his own conflict in regards to the decision, as Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) is demanding to know if he is going to promote his own daughter’s line over hers, and forces him to tell her what his answer will be.

“Are you going to side with Hope?” she asks in the clip. “Or with Steffy?”

Though he intends to keep Steffy’s line in production, Ridge will admit that he knows picking one over the other creates an issue and that it is one which he wishes he didn’t have to make.

“Whatever the decision is, one of our kids is going to be disappointed,” he says.

“The Bold and the Beautiful” airs weekdays at 1:30 p.m. EDT on CBS.
