It’s been a long road to get them there, and now, Liam and Hope’s wedding day has finally arrived. Whether or not it will go off successfully, however, will be determined by the decision to invite Steffy and Taylor to the ceremony on the Tuesday, August 21 episode of “The Bold and the Beautiful.”

Their last attempt at a wedding didn’t go as planned, but this time around, even with Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) and Taylor (Hunter Tylo) watching, the plan is for Hope (Annika Noelle) and Liam (Scott Clifton) to become husband and wife on the CBS soap—and this time, for good. Things have already been tense, however, as Taylor is insistent that Liam shouldn’t be with Hope, and should be with Steffy. Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) already overheard her trying to convince Liam not to go through with it, and it has led to the two women being even more furious with one another than they have been in the past.

Now, as the ceremony gets underway, Brooke will make a speech in honor of the happy couple, and as she speaks, she may pointedly make a remark geared at Taylor, which reflects on what Hope, Liam and Steffy have all said they wanted for the future.

“It’s going to bring us all together,” she says in a preview clip for the episode. “In a very meaningful way.”

Of course, if Taylor feels those are fighting words, it will only make matters worse, as she won’t let her long-standing foe get away with taunting her that Steffy isn’t getting the happy ending with Liam.

However, Brooke’s words will also ring true as the two women and Liam had come to an understanding prior to this day. Steffy had decided she no longer wanted to fight for Liam and gave the couple her blessing to be together. In addition, since she already has a daughter with Liam, and Hope is currently pregnant with his child, they both decided they want to keep things civil for the sake of their kids. They each grew up with their mothers fighting over the same man, and they don’t want history repeating itself.

Of course, if their mothers have their way, things won’t be that easy after all.

“The Bold and the Beautiful” airs weekdays at 1:30 p.m. EDT on CBS.
